Mixcraft is Now Worth Every Penny

Mixcraft 6.1 Is Now A Superb Daw - Demotivational Poster

As many of the high priced DAW got shittier and shittier Mixcraft improved. What initially attracted people to Mixcraft is that they were looking for a PC version of Garage Band. Mixcraft is now even better than Garage Band and it has graduated to the big league and is now capable of producing recordings equal to or better than the troublesome high priced DAWS without all the bullshit.

Musician make the best music. Geek music sucks. Mixcraft is not only a good mastering tool it is a good tool for songwriters and composer.

While I will not recommend any DAW or audio gear I will say that since Acoustica has debugged Mixcraft it seems to be the most trouble free DAW out there. Others may not agree. It clearly beats the shit out of Reaper, Audition, Studio One, Cubase 7.5, Sonor, Protools ect..

Based on my recent experience and based on what I have read Acoustica's forum there seems to be very few users having problems with Mixcraft. Let's hope that Acoustica doesn't fuck it up when they release Mixcraft 7.

Based on all the criteria for DAWs Mixcraft is now a winner.

UPDATE:

If you go to Acoustica's Forum you will read very little users there presenting with problems. Other forums are loaded with users crying for help and forum insiders saying shit like, "This has never happened to me" and then picking a fight with the person looking for help. Reaper and KVR forums are loaded with fucking lying shit heads who are insiders.

If a DAW is troublesome chances are it is not the user of the user's computer, it's the DAW. Cubase 7 for instance was not horrible but experienced pro engineers are pulling their hair out because Cubase 7.5 sucks so much now. CLICK HERE FOR REAPERS FORUM If you want to have some fun go there are troll the arrogant turds who defend the indefensible POS that is Reaper.

Mixcraft is not perfect... no DAW is but it is IMO now as good as anything out there at least for my needs. If your capture is good, even a rank beginner can make decent sounding recordings.

I would challenge a good engineer to use an identical capture of guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals and mix and master them on the top DAWs and then Mixcraft and see which one sounds best.

MIXCRAFT 6 PUBLIC BETA NOW AVAILABLE: Only Now You have to buy it!

Here is a thread from the Acoustica forum. The first and second post say it all. It seems that Mixcrap relies solely on amateur beta testers.  The so called  fixed versions are buggy as hell. Mixcraft could  be the PC version of Garage Band aka Garageband but so far it has fallen woefully short.

I think I'll wait until all the bugs are out of the Mixcraft 6 program. Mixcraft 6 is fantastic...until you encounter one of the friggin bugs. Then it sucks

If you've found bugs, we'd like to fix them, but we'll need more information.

I just downloaded and tried MC6 and I am very impressed with it so far (It's only been a day so I don't know it enough to really say alot). However, I did notice a few things....

This is not a bug report but there are two simple suggestions before the release of MC6

1. Gain/Trim knobs for each channel/track on the mixer

I just made a post about this on another topic in this forum. Here's the link: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10093

2. additional button for the Show Tracks section :

Just as in MC5 via the Mixer tab, one should have the ability to select to only view Audio, Virtual Instruments, or Send Tracks. This should be included as an additional button along with the "Check All" and "Check None" buttons. Scrolling the slider bar to see all of the contents of the mixer can get annoying if you have a lot of tracks. Checking the tracks that you want to have in view is a highly useful feature, but additional help from the option to be able to just view -for instance- your MIDI tracks alone would be even better.

Other than that, I don't know what else it doesn't have. It's already loaded with tons o cool features!

Update: I did notice that loading projects and closing the program is a bit slow. I never had this problem with Mixcraft 5 loading the same projects slow or closing the program slow.

Update 2: Another bug I noticed is that when I used MC6 to mixdown a project with a boxy reverb ambience setting that I custom made, the file rendered with a full-tailed reverb instead and it's not even a default preset. I used the VST FX called "Freeverb" for the reverb effect. I did not have this problem with MC5.

Ok, so yea this post did turn into a bug report. lol

Hi, I have an issue where I'm trying to enter my email and serial to register and it gives me an error saying "Problem Updating Registration Information" and then goes on to suggest disabling antispyware and antivirus checkers. I don't have any of that on and for some reason I just can't seem to activate it. Any ideas?

MixCraft vs Garage Band

UPDATE! Mixcraft no longer sucks.  Mixcraft 6 was a shitty DAW and as shitty as it was it was still better than most of the high priced DAW. Mixcraft is finally living up to its potential. It seems that this blog has gotten the attention of the big shots at Acoustica and they have allowed their engineers to fix the bugs. Mixcraft 6.1 is stellar and as stable as Garageband and easier to use. The main difference is is that Mixcraft is capable of producing professional results. So what you have with Mixcraft 6.1 is a DAW that is affordable, stable, easy to use. It is a great choice for singer songwriters and if the high priced DAWs continue to suck it's a viable option for professional studios.

There are very few complaints about Mixcraft 6.1 and here are some reviews. CLICK HERE!

This is another HUGE problem with Mixcraft.

I decided to fire up the Dark Side™ of my MBP (you know, Windows :P) and try Mixcraft to see if it was remotely as easy as GB. Well, it's not. It LOOKS like it should be easy, but it's far less intuitive. I found myself accidentally overlapping loops (on top of each other IN THE SAME TRACK) because it doesn't copy and paste sections of loops properly. Using the arrow key to move the marker around instead moves the loops around. It's a giant pain and I've made a big mess that gets more and more screwed up as it goes along (including an abrupt ending).

Nonetheless, I'm releasing my very generic techno tune for all to enjoy.

Another Mixcraft User Reponds

Could you please include in the next update of Mixcraft 5 the inclusion of an auto-save feature as well as the back up of the previous saved file, together with the option of deciding save intervals? I've used various video editors that have this facility but it doesn't appear to exist in Mixcraft 5.

I am so pissed off. I have spent the whole day and some hours last night doing some overdubs for someone's (Audacity) MP3 music file, and suddenly the program went 'Not Responding'. I left it for a few hours in case Mixcraft got through the freeze-up, but it didn't and I had to close and restart it, but now it says it can't load the project file because it's corrupt! And there is no alternative backup either. I am so angry at having wasted all this time. This must be my fifth 'Not Responding' or crash episode since using the program - which is only about a week! The previous times were when I was experimenting, but this is my first project disaster. Just as on the previous occasions, it occured whilst I was accessing the Mixcraft effects VSTs.

This really needs to be addressed.

Incidentally, I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit) on a Pentium E6300 (dual core) with 4gb RAM.

I did do regular saves. I find it somewhat worrying that Mixcraft managed to corrupt the saved file when it froze up. That's why it's good to have an automatic backup of a saved file.

sorry you have encountered this problem - I don't mean to "rain on your parade" but my own thoughts on this would be that having the program auto save could mean that it does that while I'm in the middle of recording something which could equally cause problems, couldn't it?

My own experience is to get into the habit of "manually saving" periodically while I'm working [especially after I've just recorded a really nice overdub or "tricky" solo onto a project ;)]

ianpb responded: The worrying thing is that I did do regular saves, and that Mixcraft managed to corrupt the file when it froze up.

Mixcraft has a pro version which suggests that professional studios use Mixcraft. If you know of any professional studios running Mixcraft let me know.
