Since the demise of the music industry music industry as we knew it, slimy music distribution companies have popped up all over the internet. One of the slimiest is a crime ring called TuneCore. Reviews on ToneCore are poor. TuneCore's Better Business Bureau rating is a B-.  Contacting ToneCore is next to impossible. 
TuneCore has been or is under an FBI investigation for accounting fraud.

We were and are absolutely disgusted with the communication and effort that TuneCore put forth in “working” to resolve our dilemma. Out of the 6 items we have distributed through them, 4 have had problems. This was by far the worst, a true financial and professional embarrassment. We won’t be using Tunecore again, and I would claim that  artists who want to be treated like they matter should look somewhere else for their distribution needs.

Contacting TuneCore is not easy. They don't list any contact information but I was able to locate a street address 45 Main Street, Suite 705 Brooklyn NY 11201, and  a phone number (646) 651-1060.

In order to use a DAW and not produce shit you have to be a musician. DAWS have made it so any asshole can produce something resembling music and that has added to the demise of music because listeners have to wade through more shit than ever to find music that doesn't suck. To all you gear queers, and fuck wads make rap, house, EDM, electronica etc... your music will suck regardless of the DAW you are using because unlike R.L. Kuhn, you lack one vital component... TALENT!

In the song Right Down To It, Kuhn is playing all the instruments and he's playing them well. That takes many talents. Unfortunately for songwriters who may not be great performers, vocalists, or instrumentalists today's music industry is not going to find your songs. You need to be like R.L. Kuhn and be good at everything. Kuhn is one of these rare people who not just a jack of all trade and a master of none. Kuhn's play, production, engineering, and arranging in masterful.

Motivated by the ongoing demise of the music industry Kuhn is currently working on ways for undiscovered musically talented people to be heard. How iTunes Destroyed The Music Business In 1 Simple Chart

The music industry was the first entertainment business to confront the digital transition, although it was not exactly a willing pioneer. Rather, it was thrust into this role as a matter of survival, as it grappled with the rapid rise of online piracy in the early 2000s.
The music industry was incredibly slow to respond to the digital transition. Napster, the original music piracy site, burst onto the scene in 1999, but it wasn’t until 2004 when Apple iTunes debuted that consumers grew more and more primed to free music.
This was a serious error and haunted the music industry for years thereafter, costing the industry multi-billions in annual sales. The rest of the entertainment industry has taken note and, as a result, all other entertainment sectors, including video, have been comparatively quick to embrace digital distribution.
The music industry, rather than focusing on a legal digital download service, initially focused all its effort on shutting down Napster by way of a copyright infringement lawsuit. Ultimately, the industry prevailed and the courts shut down Napster in mid-2001; however, this was a pyrrhic victory. By the time Napster was shut down, the pirates had moved on to the next new thing: decentralized peer-to-peer file sharing, led by Gnutella. Unlike Napster, these piracy sites were virtually impossible to shut down because there was no central server storing the files. Shutting down Gnutella would have been tantamount to shutting down the entire internet.
In addition to the failure to launch a legal alternative to the pirate sites, the music industry was, understandably, paralysed by its fear of album unbundling. Piracy had given consumers a taste for singles and there was no going back to albums.
Against this backdrop of piracy and absent a legal digital alternative, music sales plummeted. From a peak of nearly US$15 bn in 1999, US music sales declined cumulatively by 15% to US$12 bn in 2003 (previous exhibit). The decline in song units (assuming 10 songs per album) was even more dramatic, declining by 29% cumulatively to 7.7 bn over the same time. Little did the industry know that this was only the beginning of the decline. By 2004, the music industry was in dire straits. Physical sales were in free fall and its own efforts to launch a digital download service were failing.
Apple, with the dominant digital music player and superior software engineering skills, was a perfect partner (nay, savior) for the music industry, with Steve Jobs Achieving a very consumer-friendly retail price of US$0.99 per song and a wholesale price of US$0.70. This wholesale price was, in effect, a 30% price reduction from the implicit price per song on a physical album (i.e., US$10 album wholesale price, 10 songs per album).
After a small bump in sales in 2004 from the launch of iTunes, the declines resumed as the double whammy of album unbundling and a 30% wholesale price cut took its toll. From 2004 to 2014, US music unit and dollar sales declined cumulatively by another 50%, erasing US$5 bn in annual sales.
There is no rest for the weary, and the music industry is already confronting another digital transition, call it digital transition 2.0, in the form of online streaming. Song sales stabilised from 2010 to 2012, but have since resumed declining as music demand is now shifting from digital downloads (ownership) to online streaming (rentals), such as Pandora.

Scott Grove and Guitardation

Youtuber Scott Grove of Groovy Music Lessons tells it like it is. You gotta love that. I think Scott coined the phrase guitarded and maybe I have coined the phrase guitardation. Guitar people can be dumber than a second coat of paint. They are so easily led and conned by the manufacturers into buying expensive junk. In the video, Scott Grove does blind sound tests on 6 acoustic guitars. I won't tell you the results but I will say that price often has very little with how a guitar, particularly an acoustic guitar, sounds or plays.

The guitarded are easily sucked in by the name on the headstock, marketing hype, and the bling. Building an acoustic guitar is not rocket surgery and that my be why the Chinese knockoffs of Martin and Taylors are often nearly indistinguishable from the real thing. I can understand the enthusiast owning a small herd of guitars. Personally, I own some classical guitars, a 12 string, and a couple of six string guitars. The most expensive one I own is a Yamaha FG-720S that sells for $280 at Sweetwater Music. Its tone is balanced and unlike most Martins it's has a good neck and it's stable I bought it used along with a Gator case for $150. It has a solid Sitka top and mahogany back and sides. Why should I pay $2000 plus for a Martin with a clunky neck that doesn't sound any better and needs to be at a repair shop every month? The guitarded pay way too much for pretty and expensive guitars and those bullshit boutique amps. Dear Guitarted, if you want a decent amp get a Fender, a Marshall, or a Mesa or one of their clones. Mixcraft 7 Reviews

From all accounts, Mixcraft 7 is a winner. It would appear that Mixcraft 7 is a stable and user-friendly DAW with plenty of bells and whistles to make the recording, mixing, and mastering processes a joy instead of a chore. Unlike other DAWs Mixcraft respects the user by making navigation commonsensical and intuitive. Acoustica respects the users by offering free tutorials at Mixcraft University on YouTube

    Now as for the Mixcraft pro 7, I'm dumbfounded of its SIMPLICITY AND EASE OF USE,VERY HIGH-QUALITY SOFTWARE FOR THE MONEY!social media ready,does not require too much processing and ram for plug-ins! but it does not hurt to have lots of it. I've been a pro-tool user for ten years,v7-v9+extreme learning curves) frustrated at times and never giving up which is great but,recording your art should be fun,smooth flowing without hindrance and this does that really well. EZ PEEEZY BABY! AND FUN! And If you dig analog mixers of the past,then you'll luv this software! it has individual channel mixer set up like an analog board at bottom screen.This has more than what I'll ever need! I;m a simple guy and if your like me then you'll dig it as well...

    Anyways there's nothing bad to say at all about this product,plus the book(manual) that it came with is just as easy and user friendly for quick set up and quick start up. Pro tool is not for me,there are people that swear by it,and its all good,just not for me. Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 7 is a steal for the money! just add to cart and bring back the fun of recording again..

    Mixcraft 7 and Mixcraft 7 Pro Studio offer a great alternative to other complex and expensive products on the market.
    Note that there is a standard version between the "Home studio" and "Pro Studio" version. The great folks at Sweetwater need to show this version in the catalog as well!

    Mixcraft Pro Studio 7 is my go to DAW!!!

    I was an Avid Pro Tools 8 user for about 5 years and I became annoyed by the freezing, crashing, and rebooting that I had to do constantly when recording directly into the DAW and when I was zealous with the plugins. So I took a chance on Mixcraft 7 and I fell in love with it. It has all of the features of Pro Tools that I like but at a much cheaper price and easier on the cpu. I don't ever plan to go back to Pro Tools.

    MixCraft is AWESOME!!

    MixCraft 7 Pro Studio has come a long way. I had MixCraft 5 but it lacked a lot of features I needed at the time. None-the-less it was a very nice DAW that I felt was heading in a great direction. FFW I upgraded to MixCraft 7 Pro Studio and am blown away by not only the features and enhancements Acoustica has added but the quality and simplicity is astounding as well. Everything just works the way it should. I have 3 other DAWS, all much more expensive and let me just say MixCraft can easily keep right up with them and it does most everything they can do. In some areas even better. This is a fantastic piece of recording software and Acoustica's support is stellar too. Don't let the low price fool you. This is one very powerful and efficient DAW!

    First off, I want to say that I'm a huge fan of Mixcraft. I've been using Mixcraft as my primary DAW since Version 4. I've also used other DAWs in the past, such as ProTools, Sonar, Cakewalk, and Reaper. They are all good programs, but for me, Mixcraft is all I need. I can take a song from start to finish in no time without the hassle of bouncing this and that. I can easily manage my hundreds of plugins too! Mixcraft's Pro Studio Reverb is the best sounding reverb I've ever heard. The various functions found within Mixcraft have a low learning curve, which means you can be up and running, producing great music in no time. Mixcraft's latest version comes in both 32 and 64-bit. The 64-bit version can run both 32 and 64-bit plugins, which is awesome. The bottom line is that you won't find a better DAW out there for the money!!

    This is the DAW to watch

    I am embarrassed at the amount of music software I own and use. Pro Tools 9, Studio one 3, Reason 8, Sonar, Reaper 5, Samplitude Prox2,FL Studio 12, Harrison Mixbus 3, and Tracktion 6 all have a place in my heart for different reasons. Each has their strength and Mixcraft is simply to easiest and best way to learn the layout of your typical linear DAW. It can hang with the big boys in terms of features and its actually a blast to work inside of due to its ease of use and wealth of options. As of version 7, it plays nice with all of the plugins(And i have ALOT) that ive tried it with. It seems to be marketed towards rock musicians and thats cool but I would almost say its one of the most versatile workstations in terms of genre creating that ive worked with. To me, Mixcraft feels a lot like Samplitude ProX by Magix but at about 1/3 the price. I like where these guys are heading and within a version or two it'll be giving the big boys in the DAW world something to worry about
