More Users Saying Mixcraft Sucks

  • UPDATE: Since I published this article the geeks at Mixcraft got their shit together and fixed Mixcraft. Mixcraft is now living up to its potential. It is now a stable and very intuitive DAW. The pro version is IMO a very good professional DAW yet it still retains an analog feel along with a workflow that is unsurpassed

  • There is this notion among geeks that one should expect music software to be buggy. That's just bullshit. Geeks like bugs and they like fixing them. I suppose it gives them some sort of feeling of accomplishment that only a geek can feel. Most of us Don't want to have to fix our tools. We want them to work properly right out of the box. Mixcraft now does that. I think that I rattled their cage and perhaps now the industry will wake up and stop releasing buggy shitty fucked up DAWs. Perhaps not. But in any event Acoustica the company that make Mixcraft did that.

    When you try to watch a video tutorial on you tube with MixCRAP open the video won't play.

    Mixcraft is very unstable.

    This has been happening to me a lot too. i.e. Mixcraft crashing.

    At first I put it down to being my own fault.

    Most of the time it's tied to me having certain settings for recording and playback. I can accept that but does it really have to crash each time?

    Once into this "Crash" cycle it can go on for several evenings in a row.

      Sue me and I will clean up on the counter suit. BTW asshole it's spelled libel and libel a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation.

      Mixcraft sucks along with a lot of other DAWS and a lot of people are expressing those sentiments and opinions and I merely post links to their opinions and allow people to draw their own conclusions. It's called free speech and in my constitutionally protected opinion and and in the opinion of others Mixcraft and a lot of other DAWS suck ass.

      If Acoustica and other DAW sellers what good reviews then they should make DAWS that don't SUCK!

    In 2014 Aoustica fixed a lot of bugs and most people are having a good experience with Mixcraft 6.1. Try a fresh install.

    I haven't read anything bad about Mixcraft 7 yet and hopefully it will stay that way. It seems that most DAWs are released as betaware with more bells and whistles.

    Brendon, there are DAWs far worse than Mixcraft. Studio One is perhaps the worst.

    Generally the Mixcraft forum is pretty helpful.

    Windows can be trouble. I have not upgraded to 10 because I don't want any surprises. Most IT departments are sticking with 7 as well.

    You may want to try going in to task manager and shutting down all the bloatware that's running. That may help.

    Hello proud FA.
    Sorry if I offended you,I am running mixcraft 6.1 the problem happens when I try to select a send track, From a track eg adjust send volume. This happens in a fatal way eg not responding for hours when there is 15 or more tracks with 3-5 plugins per track. I am using Windows 10 8gb ram i7 processor.
    Also vst plugins vanish forever including the supplied plugins, even after rescanning vst folders, running mixcraft as Admin.I Have killed many start up programs in the task bar.
    I had the same issues with mixcraft 5 on a different computer.
    Yes mixcraft 6.1 is better but I beleave once the computers processed spikes to near max somehow script errors occur.
    Yes I love using mixcraft, thank you for developing it. I just get pissed when if I have not saved work for 5-10 minutes ad loose progress. A auto save after every edit or so would be nice,
    So yes you will say I am pushing the computer to hard yes maybe I am but for that split second when the processor nears 80+ % mixcraft sometimes goes into not responding mode and 99% of the time recovers in less than 1 minute.

      Mixcraft stutters when my processor get around 70% but if there is nothing running in the background most processor Mixcraft uses is under 30%.

      Maybe MC misreports how much processor it is using. I push my computer pretty hard Intel i3 with 4 gig of RAM.

      Check task manager and shutdown all the unnecessary processes.

    PS allso running focusrite 2/4i scarlet.finally getting half decent recordings. I was using a wharfedale connect that was shitty, bad sound flakey bass shit clocking.

    Let's just say, I'm a person very close to Mixcrash. The software is nothing more than other developer's work from other companies, sloppily stitched together and presented as something original. It's not surprising how much this software falls apart. With free Cakewalk now available, I don't know why anyone would spend a nickle on this junkie software. The midi programming is particularly bad, and not usable even in a novice sense. In my opinion, the software is bad and don't let the CHEAP price tag fool you! You get what you pay for!

      Midi has worked well for me but the view is not good. MC has run quite well for me. Reaper crashed constantly and Studio One is just nasty. FL Studio looks looks good but it seems best for writing beats.
